Ekta Kapoor, being the daughter of an actor and a producer has had the privilege of growing up quite close to the Indian film industry. However, she has always been a hard worker; starting her career at the age of 17, interning with Ad and feature filmmaker Kailash Surendranath.
Her first few projects were failures, with six of her Pilot episodes being rejected. She incurred losses of nearly Rs.50 lakhs. She finally found success with her 1995 sitcom, ‘Hum Paanch‘. She made her first movie, “Kyu Ki. . . . Main Jhooth Nahi Bolta” in 2001.
In the 2000s, She launched numerous shows like, ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’, ‘ Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki’, ‘Kabhii Sautan Kabhi Sahelii’, ‘Kohi Apna Sa’, ‘Kaahin Kissii Roz’, ‘Kasautii Zindagii Kay’, ‘Kahiin To Hoga’ and ‘Kasamh Se’.
