The very first portable games console was launched in 1976, but it wasn’t until 1978 that it became a real success. But with today’s technology, even mobile phones are now handheld consoles. 

Handheld consoles were originally small video game consoles with a built-in screen, controller and speaker. Many people considered them practical because they could be taken anywhere to use.
