Helan Abdulla was born on November 16, 1988, in Urmia, Iran during the Persian Gulf War. Her parents were Peshmerga rebels who fought against Saddam and had escape to Iran where Helan was born and then escape to Europe via Turkey. Helen’s family was granted asylum by the Finnish government. Helly Luv exhibited a certain star quality as a young child; by winning a scholarship to the best dance school in Finland, competing in European championship finals, and signing a five-year contract with NIKE women.
At the age of 18, she moved to the United States to live up to the American dream. In winter 2013, Helly Luv signed a music deal with Gawain “G2” Bracy II and G2 Music Group.
