Kher received the Padma Shri honour from the Indian government in 2017. Along with numerous nominations, he has also won two Filmfare Awards for best male playback singer: one for the Telugu film Mirchi (2013) and one for the Hindi film Fanaa (2006).
Along with his effective voice and his precise fashion of song, Kher has installed himself as one of the maximum popular playback singers of India.
