As a child, Willy “Ill Will” Graham influenced Nas interest in Hip-Hop. She used to play records in front of him. Since that time, Nas began to take an interest in Hip-Hip culture. He initially used ‘Kid Wave’ as his nickname.
In 1989, Nas adopted Nasty Nas as his stage name and finally, in 1992, he released his first debut song titled “Halftime”. Between 1992 and 1994, Nas has to go through a tough time in his career and, after so much struggle, he finally made a comeback in 1994 and released his first debut album titled Illmatic, celebrated by Hip-Hop lovers and became the best album of the year by The Source.. In the following, he also collaborated for recording the soundtrack of the film Street Fighter.
1996 was marked as a big year for Nas. He released his second album, ‘It Was Written’. It Was Written is the first album released under The Firm, a supergroup consisting of Nas, AZ, Foxy Brown, and Cormega. The album became a big hit and cleared the way for Nas career.
