American rapper and musician with birth name Cameron Jibril Thomaz was born on September 8, 1987. He is better known by his stage name, Wiz Khalifa. He joined Warner Bros. In 2008 he released his Eurodance-influenced tune “Say Yeah,” which saw rotation on urban radio and went on to rank as his first small hit on the Hot Rap Tracks and Rhythmic Top 40 charts.

After many setbacks with the release of his intended first album for the label, First Flight, Khalifa broke off his relationship with Warner Bros. Records in July 2009. In an interview with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Khalifa said, “I gained a lot of knowledge and developed as an artist there. I’m excited to be able to decide what to do next and to be moving forward with all of my content.
